Presentation, Performance, and Discussion: A.I. and Score-Following in Multimedia Performance
Orchestra Rehearsal Room, Hendrie Hall, Yale School of Music, 6:30pm
At the end of November I'm giving an in-depth demonstration and presentation of the technology I've been using to add live animation, digital sound, etc. to performances.
I'm very pleased that two people I've closely collaborated with on developing several of these performances will be presenting at this event-- I've invited the developers of the technology I've been using, my sister Kaitlin Pet and Professor Chris Raphael from Indiana University to explain how everything works in musician-friendly terms, and we'll demonstrating several pieces that use this tech. Other guest speakers also include Professors David Shifrin and Frank Morelli from the Yale School of Music.
Finally we'll end the evening on a discussion with the audience on what you all think of this tech, it's future, it's drawbacks, and further applications.
It would be fantastic to see you all there!
Featuring performances include:
-"Wings," by Joan Tower with live animated video accompaniment
-Mozart Serenade in Eb Major, III. Adagio, digitally assembly featuring YSM faculty and alumni
-Ricercar à 3 from A Musical Offering, J. S. Bach, arranged for oboe, clarinet, and digital bass clarinet
